Out of the darkness

Is there anybody there?
Is this thing switched on?
*tap, tap*
Right, let's see if I can remember how to do this......

Hello, I'm back.
I knew I hadn't blogged for a while, but January!?

In my head I had this wonderful amazing post about why I haven't been posting;
but it refuses to come out as words on the screen that make sense.
And besides, it would probably sound like a 'woe is me' post;
so I'll just say, it's been a crap year, but time to move on.

And then I realised it's the start of November;
which means it's AEDM!
So here we go;
30 days of creating to really get me back in the swing again.

So, without further ado, here's today's contribution.
Journal page, acrylic on paper.
 Still a WIP, but I had to stop as the paints need time to dry because the colours were getting a bit muddy. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it tomorrow
(famous last words).

So, there we have it. Day 1 under my belt :)

Now I just have to remember how to get it on AEDM........

  1. Hi Nigel, So glad you're back for AED month! Looking forward to your posts!

  2. Looks good! I like how you used such saturated colors for an industrial(?) subject--unusual and cool! The light in the sky really works for me, too. Are you sure it needs further work? I'd have thought it was perfectly finished, just as it is now! Best wishes!

  3. It was so good to reconnect with you for AEDM. I love the painting, but you actually had me laughing with your post. Looks like you found how to post, too. I look forward to that next installation tomorrow (your words, not mine!)

  4. I SO know how you feel about getting back into the swing of things again. How did I leave painting this long again? Hopefully after a month of everyday I'll stop stopping, lol. Great perspective on this, I love street scenes using perspective. Visiting from AEDM

  5. Love it. I'm just learning acryllics, but good grief they dry so fast here in the desert!

  7. Hi Nigel, time does fly doesn't it? I wanted to wish you a good aedm month, your wip is off to a good start.

  8. Wonderful to see you posting again Nigel!
    I've missed you.
    Sure hope the rest of your year is much much better for you!!!
    I enjoyed seeing Step 1 of your painting and Step 2 is fab as well.
    p.s. when I tried listening to the Clutch Video I got this message: "This video contains content from The Orchard Music, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds." HARRUMPHFFFF I say ... I did have a listen to the band playing a couple of other songs...great heavy metal sound and the guitars Ooooh!!!
