Curious

Is it chained to prevent anybody hurting it?

Is it dangerous?

Or is there another reason?

I'll leave it to you to decide.

Shadow box by Twiddleybitz, papers by Graphics45 & 7 Gypsies. Heart sewn and stuffed by me (that's why it's a bit of an odd shape).

This is my entry for the latest Play date Cafe challenge.

And finally, A happy new year to one and all - may it bring you love, laughter and happiness.

  1. It may be chained, but for whatever reason at least there is a key!!
The heart looks good to me; you can't be too imperfect for my liking. I reckon hearts are all slightly different shapes anyway.
This heart has probably been hurt,(emotionally) in the past and has decided to hide behind chains and will only hand the key over to someone who is brave enough to enter the shadows to release it.

I hope this year brings you all good things; happy New Year, Nigel.

I also like your previous posting.

  8. When I clicked on your piece I immediately broke out in song "chain chain chain . . .chain of fools" by Aretha Franklin for some reason *smiles*. LOVE your latest creation Nigel.

  12. Nigel, that's so cool. I love that idea.
I don't think that the heart is dangerous. It's nestled in there with care and protected well. There lies near it a key and I image that the lock is not too far away, but it's not always easy to find it.

A shadow box has been on my 'wish list of things to do' for quite a while now but as yet not got round to getting on and doing.

  16. Beautiful. This is truly inspired. I think your heart is perfect - lopsided, a few stitches exposed, and stuffed by loving hands ... isn't that the way hearts are suppose to be? Thanks for sharing.

  25. I think it's being fiercely guarded as it's been damaged in the past (hence the "bit of an odd shape"). It's not going to give up that key again very easily.

    I love it.
